Creative Merchandiser -
Job Description: The Creative Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring the shops wow our customers and meet our visual standards through the conceptualization and realization of excellent visual displays and merchandising. This role blends creativity, design, strategy and implementation.
The Creative Merchandiser collaborates continually with the Creative Director, Buying and Marketing teams to plan upcoming seasons in the shop, with the goal of attracting customers, promoting products, and driving sales. This position reports to the Creative Director and participates in the weekly product meeting with the Creative Director, Warehouse Manager, Visual Merchandiser and Buying team to discuss order status and strategy, with regular check-ins with the Creative Director throughout the week.
Responsibilities
Display Design + Floor Planning:

Conceptualize and plan creative and engaging product displays, including product displays, window displays and window boxes, that align with the brand's identity and promotional goals, utilizing planograms, story slides, and the Marketing and Merchandise calendars to attract customer attention

Execute displays with the Visual Merchandiser

Ensure displays are visually appealing, cohesive, strategically placed, and align with Occasionette’s image and messaging.

Lead brainstorming discussions for new displays and collaborate with the Creative Director, Buying and Marketing teams for upcoming seasons

Plan and implement store layouts to optimize customer flow and maximize visibility of high-priority products for approval from the Creative Director

Collaborate with the Creative Director to design seasonal floor plans that enhance shopping experiences.

Maintain consistent visual standards across all displays and retail locations

Strategically arrange products to highlight their features and benefits.

Utilize props, signage, and lighting to enhance product appeal, and keep the catalog of unused fixtures and display items organized and intact for future use

Manage budgets for props, materials, and display setups.
Collaboration and Instruction:

Communicate with the Customer Service team to help provide instruction on how to upkeep and replenish product displays as needed to keep the shops looking fresh and full between visits. Train store staff on visual merchandising best practices and standards.

Provide ongoing guidance on maintaining displays and store appearance.

Ensure displays on tables and shelves are replenished and restocked regularly by the team and looking fresh

Work closely with the Marketing team to align merchandising efforts with campaigns and promotions.

Communicate with the Buying team to ensure sufficient stock levels for highlighted products.

Provide feedback on sales, trends, and based on sales reporting and visual observations in the shops and make recommendations for and facilitate product transfers between shops based on sales observations as needed

Stay updated on industry trends, consumer behaviors, and competitor strategies.

Analyze the effectiveness of visual merchandising efforts through sales data, customer feedback, and traffic flow.
Visual Displays:

Work with the Creative Director to conceptualize and design window displays on a rotating schedule in each of the three locations as needed

Acquire necessary materials and supplies to create and install window displays within the provided budget

Design seasonally appropriate planting installations in the windowboxes at each location for Creative Director approval. Install plants each season and instruct the customer service team on any necessary maintenance to keep window boxes looking fresh and appealing

Occasionally transport bins of product or display materials to/from retail locations, warehouse, and office as needed

Participate in the Monday product meeting with the Creative Director, Warehouse Manager, Marketing and Buying Teams
Qualifications:

Previous experience in retail merchandising or other relevant experience preferred

Must have reliable transportation to/from locations

Flexibility with schedule changes week to week
-
Desire to contribute ideas for fresh displays within the shops

This job does entail manual, physical labor, must be able to lift approx 50 lbs or more and climb ladders to reach upper shelves, etc, as needed

Schedule / Location / Compensation:
-
This job is primarily Mon - Friday, with some earlier or later hours as needed during busy periods. Weekends will generally not be required, but flexibility for weekend availability on occasion is much appreciated

This position requires frequent travel between all locations and the warehouse. Reliable transportation is a must
