Now Hiring: Operations Manager

Occasionette is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee our retail gift shops. 

Responsibilities include ensuring that things are running smoothly at each location - checking overall shop appearance, making sure cleaning and merchandising standards are being met, scheduling personnel at all three locations, being a point person for the team for HR issues, working with the creative team to create appropriate signage, leading communication around special events (sales, etc) with each team,spotting any glaring inventory issues, serving as a liaison between the front of house team and management, hiring and training as needed, communicating policy to the customer service team, and thinking ahead to make sure the shops have what they need (things like hand sanitizer and rock salt for snow days, supplies for upcoming events, etc.). 
This position requires being in each shop (Collingswood, Joy Shop and East Passyunk) for 1-2 days during the week to check in person that the shops are in good condition and having in-person face time with the team.
Ideal candidates:
  • are able to travel to and from each shop easily
  • have retail management experience
  • demonstrate exemplary customer service skills
  • feel confident leading a team of 15-25 people
  • have excellent organizational skills
  • are quick thinking
  • have a "big picture" point of view (but can get into the details) 
  • feel an enthusiasm for the types of products we carry and the Occasionette brand in general
The Operations Manager position is generally Monday - Friday from 10am - 7pm with occasional weekends on-call for texts / phone questions, with some additional hours required during the busy holiday season. This position reports directly to the business owner. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits for this position include health insurance, retirement benefits and paid time off.
