Occasionette opened its first shop in 2013 on East Passyunk Avenue with one goal in mind: to make people feel brighter.

Since then, we’ve grown to three beloved neighborhood shops in the Philadelphia area - each one full of color, charm, and thoughtfully curated gifts for every kind of occasion (even the little ones)!

Whether you're wandering our card wall, picking out a candle that’s scented like childhood nostalgia, or discovering a joyful little something, our shops are warm & welcoming with just the right amount of whimsy.

We even have our own line of Occasionette exclusives - cheerful treasures designed in Philly and available both in our shops & online, ready to ship nationwide. We believe in local, independent retail as a force for good, and we’re proud to be part of the communities we serve.

Supporting the Communities That Support Us

Being a good neighbor matters to us as much as picking the perfect gift. At key moments through the year, we match donations made by customers at checkout to local charities and organizations.

Some organizations we’ve supported include: the Food Bank of South Jersey, SEAMAAC, William Way, MANNA, and Haddon Township Equity Initiative.

Meet Sara:

Owner, Creative Director, & Joy Enthusiast

Occasionette was founded by entrepreneur & creative Sara Villari, whose eye for detail and love of gifting has shaped every shelf, product, and package since day one.

From designing exclusive goods to mentoring her all-women leadership team, Sara brings her values of creativity, kindness, transparency, and community to every part of the Occasionette experience.

You can often find her rearranging a display, picking out the next batch of tea towels, or dreaming up new ways to surprise and delight. Under Sara’s care, Occasionette has become more than a gift shop. It’s a place people come to feel inspired, supported, and more joyful.
