  • Facilities Coordinator

    We are currently seeking a reliable, knowledgeable person for a Facilities Coordinator- our resident handy person. This position will be responsible helping to keep the our facilities (our three shops and our South Jersey warehouse) in good working order.

    The Facilities Coordinator will work closely with the Owner, Shop Managers and the Visual Merchandising team to make sure all our shop spaces are well maintained and functioning properly. This will include, but is not limited to, making small repairs to minor issues, such as light carpentry projects, small painting projects, making small repairs (such as replacing a bathroom doorknob or hanging a sign), finding and coordinating with trade professionals such as plumbers or electricians to procure quotes and overseeing third party projects, making sure things are completed in a timely manner and on budget, as well as being a point of contact for annual fire inspections. 

    We’re looking for someone who is has a few years of practical experience and know-how. Candidates should have a working knowledge of simple and power tools (such as hammers, screwdrivers, drills, shop vacs, etc) to do simple tasks like patching drywall, installing a hanging shelf or unclogging a sink. They should be comfortable climbing an 8’ ladder, not be afraid to get their hands dirty, feel confident and knowledgeable talking to trade professionals and requesting quotes, and enjoy seeing a project through from start to finish. A hands-on approach, solid communication skills and creative problem solving skills are a must. 

    This is a part time position, and hours are flexible, likely 8-15 hours per week. This is an in-person position across all of our locations.

  • Creative Assistant

    We are delighted to welcome a Creative Assistant to the Occasionette team! Have you dreamed of making completely memorable and magical shopping experiences? Do you sometimes look at an object and imagine all the different visual possibilities it has? Do you love inventing creative solutions to design challenges?

    The Creative Assistant will work closely with the Creative Director and the Visual Merchandising team to design, produce, create, and install decorative visual elements into the shops. These elements will include, but are not limited to, decorative installations above and around specific shop displays, storefront window displays, maintaining and installing window boxes from season to season, and items of visual interest for the uppermost shelves in the shops. 

    Candidates should have a working knowledge of how to use light tools (such as hammers, screwdrivers, drills) to do simple tasks like hang a framed picture or install a wall hook using an anchor, be comfortable climbing a 6’ ladder, not be afraid to get their hands dirty, feel confident with a can of paint, and enjoy dreaming up a project and seeing it through from start to finish. A hands-on approach and creative problem solving skills are a must. 

    While there is ample opportunity for learning and growth in this role, we’re looking for someone who is bringing a few years of practical experience, tips and tricks, and know-how to the table. This role will vary seasonally in the shop - for example, most of the year, it will likely be about 10-20 hours per week, but as we head into the holiday season, it may ramp up to 20-35 hours. Hours are flexible, however this is a job that requires a physical presence in each of our three retail shops.

  • Marketing Assistant

    Occasionette is seeking a marketing assistant to help create memorable, impactful and effective marketing assets and campaigns for our trio of growing retail shops. We are looking for someone who wants to collaborate on marketing initiatives to help make our seasonal sales, in-shop events, and the daily shopping experience at Occasionette truly special.

    The Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Creative Director to create and design marketing graphics and content for our social media and email campaigns, as well as in-shop signage. 

    Candidates should have a fluent knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite and familiarity with email software (Mailchimp). An understanding of our existing branding and brand voice is key, as well as the desire to create seriously fun graphics and marketing materials.

    Hours are flexible, but there will be reasonable deadlines that must be met for printed and digital content. This position has the option to be remote / work from home, but preference will be given to local candidates who can visit our shops to assist with events or distribute signage in person. This position will start at 15-25 hours per week.
