Creative Merchandiser
We are delighted to welcome a new Creative Merchandiser to the Occasionette team! Have you dreamed of making completely memorable and magical shopping experiences? We're looking for someone to work with our fun and friendly team to.make the shops even more amazing.
The Creative Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring the shops wow our customers and meet our visual standards through the conceptualization and realization of excellent visual displays and merchandising. This role blends creativity, design, strategy and implementation.
The Creative Merchandiser will work closely with the Creative Director and the Visual Merchandiser to design, produce, create, and install visual elements into the shops while taking into account how these elements impact sales. Projects will include, but are not limited to, product displays, decorative installations above and around shop displays, storefront window displays, maintaining and installing window boxes seasonally, coordinating signage with our marketing and buying teams, and curating items of visual interest for the shops.
Strong candidates will have related experience in or related to retail merchandising, will be able to show us a portfolio of examples of their work, possess a working knowledge of how to use light tools (such as hammers, screwdrivers, drills) to do simple tasks like install a wall hook using an anchor, be comfortable climbing a 6’ ladder, feel confident with a can of paint, and enjoy dreaming up a project and seeing it through from start to finish. A hands-on approach and creative problem solving skills are a must. Merchandising on this level is both an art and a science - ideal candidates will also be comfortable reviewing sales reports, spotting trends and collaborating with a team.
While there is ample opportunity for learning and growth in this role, we’re looking for someone who is bringing a few years of practical experience, fresh creative ideas, tips and tricks, and know-how to the table. Hours are somewhat flexible, however this is a full time job that requires a physical presence in each of our three retail shops for a total of approx 40 hours each week. Reliable transportation is a must.

Customer Service Specialists
We are seeking a few customer service magicians at each of our locations with a knack for making people feel special. Customer Service Specialists are the face of Occasionette. Responsibilities include making everyone in the shop feel welcome, helping shoppers find the perfect card or gift, ensuring the shop looks its best every day by restocking and cleaning, ringing up purchases, and gift wrapping for our customers. In addition to being of service to our guests, Customer Service Specialists assist the Shop Manager and Inventory Specialist process incoming orders and communicate product trends in the shop.
Ideal candidates for these positions are friendly, outgoing, think quickly on their feet, have an enthusiasm for cards and gifts, understand the fundamentals of providing top level customer service, have common sense and a sense of humor. We expect all team members to be courteous, punctual and to be able to do simple math (like making change) without the aid of a calculator. We are accepting applications for both part time (15-35 hours per week) and full time roles (35-40 hours per week) and requires weekday and weekend availability.
